Our nearest neighbours are approx. 1/2 to 1 km away but for the exception of a farmers outbuilding.

This house is rural and tranquil but is by no means isolated and is close to local amenities.

There are many things the surrounding area has to offer:
LAKE NEGRATIN - 5 minutes away.
The lake is approximately 13 km long with beautiful panoramic views. Everyday produces a different outlook. At times the lake is a vibrant aqua blue, other times it shows a mirrored image of the pink sandstone cliffs that form 1 side of the lake. Negratin has several restaurants around it. The main 1 being 'Cortijo del Cura' just 1.5 km from our dwelling. It is positioned right on the lake edge, overlooking the 'Inland Beach', many activities are held there e.g. Swimming, Sailing, Canoeing and Fishing etc. These things you can enjoy whilst avoiding the crowds of the coastal areas, yet still have fun.... PERFECT!!!!
Alternatively, 1 of the restaurants that sits to the east of the lake has a 'Thermal Banos' (dip-pool) which is fed by the thermal springs from Jabalcon Mountain. It is said to have very therapeutic qualities and is open all year round.

FREILA - 10 minutes away
This is a small village, altitude 804m above sea level, with a population of approximately 1000. A pretty little village with whitewashed cottages, many of which are original caves. It offers a journey back in time, a real Andalucian village with it's traditions & customs intact. The amenities consist of local bars, town hall, post office, doctors, pharmacy, church, public hall (for celebrations), school (free Spanish lessons), a gymnasium, supermarket, ferreteria and it's very own 'Olive Press' and Andalucian Spanish horse stables.

JABALCON MOUNTAIN - 15 minutes away
Jabalcon stands at 1984m above sea level. Popular with hand-gliders, where ramps are situated on the mountain specifically for that reason. Keen abseilers also use this mountain because of it's rock formations. There are tracks, suitable for vehicles, up & around Jabalcon & make brilliant walks, a spectacular way to observe the area. With its aerial views from the top or around it with picturesque scenery, nooks & crannies, wild life & fauna.
